The Alicat Gallery represents over fifty local and Western Canadian artists and artisans. Original oil, acrylic and watercolour paintings are the focus of the gallery. Ceramics, carvings, woodwork and glassware of the finest quality are also displayed in The Alicat Gallery. The Alicat Gallery has been in operation since 1987, and is located about 30 minutes west of Calgary, Alberta Canada. The Alicat Gallery provides world wide shipping and guarantees safe arrival. We do offer delivery within the Calgary area. The Alicat Gallery consists of 2500 square feet divided into three connecting viewing areas. Tall ceilings and large walls allow for excellent display of large paintings with lots of distance. The walls are painted in a warm olive taupe which shows off paintings especially well. A mixture of natural light through large windows as well as halogen and tungsten floods provide a broad spectrum light to maximize the colour in oil and watercolour paintings. Victorian antiques are placed throughout the gallery and are used as display pieces and sitting areas. Paintings are hung in conjunction with furniture to help give the feeling of a home. There is also a wide selection of fine wood turnings, hand blown glass, raku, metal sculpture, and ceramics displayed in The Alicat Gallery.
