Marilyn Lambert - Gerwing
Biography
Born in Vancouver in 1955. Marilyn's family moved to Calgary when she
was very young. She continues to live and work in Calgary. Marilyn's
fascination with art began at an early age. She is self taught and
works in several media including watercolour, gouache, pen and ink, pastel
and oil. Although she has no formal training, experimenting and studying
works of artists past and present, constantly enlighten and broaden her work.
"Drawing and painting is something that came naturally to me, and I have
been pursuing it ever since I can remember. I enjoy painting a variety
of subjects, including the human figure and still life."
Marilyn is currently working on a joint venture, combining her poetry with
her sister Vanessa Schacter's illustrations. Most recently, Marilyn has become
involved in the art of doll making using polymer clay, paint, fabric and
beads. Working three dimensionally requires a different set of skills and
provides a refreshing perspective from two dimensional media.
Marilyn's work is held in private collections in Calgary, Saskatoon, Toronto,
Ottawa, Edmonton and Vancouver.
